Castle

For this assignment I had to learn everything we did on the school computers then relearn how to do it on a Mac. This was pretty simple for the most part but the layout of everything was different and for some reason my computer crashed every time I got too into it. Things like the pan zoom and rotate for the mouse were especially difficult to figure out.

I tried to play with a number of different textures and materials such as these 2 different types of stone. For the purpose of this blog however I kept the castle a solid plaster making it easier to see the details.

I was inspired by old medival castles with the hinges at the tops of the towers. Driving around the city once I started this project made me look at the different types of tower tops we have differently.

I liked positioning the castle in the middle of these towers because it gave a sense of security.

I added a flag on the top because I felt like every castle needs a flag lol..
each wall contained windows. I think I was just having a blast with the boolean difference tool to be honest.

In the end Im pretty happy with how this turned out. I think if I had more time I would've tried to figure out why my computer was crashing so I could go in and make changes. Maybe even expand the castle all together. It made me feel like I was on build mode for The Sims except I was creating everything from scratch. The only hard this about this assignment was when the software would get worked up and lag but other than it was fun.
