I could've gone a lot of different ways with this assignment but I wanted to model something that would be challenging enough for me to learn more but fun enough that im not bored out of my mind. I chose a tech deck mostly because I wanted an excuse to play with tech decks again but also cause it had some really cool yet surfaces to work with. the hardest part was network surface because it was really hard to achieve with my piece for some reason. As well as getting the proportions perfect so the bored fits together. My original Rhino design had the Tech Deck logo in the center but for some reason on keyshot it didnt show up because the entire board key coming as one colour. Same with the different coloured screws and bolts. Below is my final piece..
I am a little behind on this assignment due to other assignments so for this weeks progress I just decided to make the basic shapes of my skateboard going. next will involve trims, extrudes, bends and lastly the screws as well.
In this extra credit assignment I added the canoe I made with a nice background. it was confusing at first because working on a Mac is different than an PC. The fillet option was especially hard because it kept making big bars instead of rounding my edges but I realized I could just make it smaller. this is the final result
I changed my mind and decided to reverse engineer a tech deck because I thought it would be more enjoyable than my other products chosen. Some areas were simple 3D modeling like cylinders. Others were hard to measure so I may need help with those later on.I think the fillets are what im struggling with measuring right now the most
My laser cutter final outcome! I originally purchased a few Trolase to get this design printed on but for some reason the computer in the thing take did not have that as a setting to cut into. The SA recommended I use the acrylic setting which ended up not showing full details which led me to birch wood. This was a lot better.
